A highly immersive and configurable needs and consumables system that transforms everyday items into physical, interactive experiences. Eat, drink, smoke, mix liquids, use substances, interact with the environment and experience a dynamic body simulation where temperature, clothing, weather and metabolism all affect the player.
โจ Key Features
๐ Advanced Consumables
Forget one-click consumption. Food, drinks, cigarettes and other usable items are physically held and consumed progressively through individual bites, sips or puffs.
Players can stop at any moment and continue later while the exact remaining amount is preserved.
๐งฉ Unlimited Item Framework
Create virtually any usable item using a flexible framework with configurable animations, props, sounds, particle effects, statuses and custom gameplay behavior.
Use the included ready-to-use content or easily expand the system with completely custom consumables and interactions.
๐จ Custom Assets & Ready-to-Use Content
Includes 30+ handcrafted animations and 46 custom prop models created specifically for VMS Needs.
Dozens of food items, drinks, alcohol, cigarettes, drugs, glasses, tests and effects come pre-configured and ready to use.
๐ฆ Persistent World Items
Players can place partially used food, drinks, cigarettes and other consumables directly in the world and return to them later.
Placed items preserve their state, are stored persistently and support routing buckets, precise placement, ground snapping and optional Gizmo positioning.
๐ค Shared Consumption
Pass currently held items to other players while preserving their exact state and remaining contents.
Share a partially eaten meal, unfinished drink, cigarette or virtually any other configured usable item.
๐น Advanced Liquid System
Pour compatible drinks into physical glasses and mix multiple liquids while preserving the exact amount and proportions of every ingredient.
Glasses dynamically represent their fill level and supported liquid contents, preserve their mixture after being placed or shared, and can even be smelled to reveal subtle hints about what they contain.
๐ฌ Advanced Smoking
Carry cigarette packs containing 20 individual cigarettes, take them out using custom animations, light them with a lighter and watch them gradually burn over time.
Smoking includes synchronized smoke effects, multiple holding styles and progressive consumption instead of a single animation.
๐บ Alcohol & Breathalyzer
Alcohol progressively affects the player with configurable intoxication levels, visual effects and interactions with the wider metabolism system.
Perform realistic breathalyzer tests on yourself or other players, with animated physical devices and results displayed directly on the in-game model.
๐ Advanced Drug System
Includes multiple fully configured substances with unique animations, props, effects and gameplay behavior while allowing developers to create completely custom drugs.
Supported interactions include preparing and snorting drug lines, multi-stage heroin preparation and injection, joints and other immersive substance interactions.
๐งช Drug Testing
Perform realistic single-substance or multi-panel drug tests on yourself or other players.
Physical test kits can detect multiple configured substances, preserve their results in item metadata and may even return an invalid result based on configuration.
๐งฌ Dynamic Needs & Metabolism
Create fully configurable player statuses and needs with hunger, thirst and stress included by default.
Substances and environmental conditions can dynamically affect each other over time - alcohol can increase dehydration, stimulants can suppress hunger, cannabis can increase appetite and temperature can influence thirst.
โก Stackable Effects
Alcohol, drugs and custom substances can remain active simultaneously instead of simply replacing one another.
Their visual effects dynamically combine, allowing for over 200,000 possible effect combinations while different substances continue influencing the player's body independently.
๐ก๏ธ Advanced Temperature Simulation
Player temperature reacts dynamically to weather, time of day, rain, wind, sunlight, shade, altitude, physical activity, swimming and even the type and condition of the vehicle.
The system calculates both environmental and perceived temperature, with configurable effects ranging from heat and reduced stamina to cold symptoms and hypothermia.
๐ Clothing Temperature Editor
Configure clothing insulation directly in-game for both male and female characters, making custom clothing support quick and easy.
Temperature protection can be calculated independently across different body areas, while Easy, Normal, Hard and Realistic presets allow you to control the overall simulation difficulty.
๐ฅ Dynamic Accidents & Item Behavior
Items react naturally to unexpected situations. Combat, vehicle crashes, ragdolls and other events can cause players to drop what they are holding, spill drinks or break glasses.
Spilling is not only visual - the actual remaining liquid amount is reduced accordingly.
๐ Immersive Presentation
Custom animations, physical props, synchronized particles and immersive sounds bring interactions to life.
๐งฉ Extensive Integrations
Supports ESX, QB-Core and QBOX-Core with compatibility for multiple inventories, Target systems, ambulance resources and other popular FiveM resources.
Choose between Target interactions or traditional 3D Text and customize adapters to fit your server setup.
๐ ๏ธ Developer Friendly
Powerful client and server exports, configurable statuses, custom behavior modules, state bags and item hooks make VMS Needs easy to extend and integrate with other resources.
Build custom items, statuses and gameplay mechanics without rewriting the core system.
โก Performance
Typical resource usage:
- Idle with Target: ~0.00ms
- Idle with 3D Text: ~0.01ms
- In use: ~0.06ms
